Proofing Files!

Proofing Phase

Hey everyone! We had a slight delay in layout, but we've now entered the Proofing Phase! All files are laid out, and we're going over each element from a design perspective and a content perspective to make sure things are clean and ready to send off to the Printer.

Here is where we stand:

  • Rulebook is about 100% of the way complete. In Proofing
  • Cards are about 100% complete. Last update we mentioned the "fine tooth comb" review. That's where we are now.
  • Character sheets are about 100% complete.
  • Map and tokens 100%
  • The Box is the same way. For all practical purposes, it's done. It still has to go through proofing to make sure it meets the specs of the factory.
  • PNP Files: Once these components are finalized, we'll be assembling the print and play. Due to the high number of cards, the print and play document will be multiple pages, but that's what happens with a card-based game with over 200 tarot-sized cards

Layout continues! Cool stuff inside...

Layout Continues

Hey everyone! Layout is ongoing and it's looking like the entire project will be able to be submitted to the printer later this month!

Here is where we stand:

  • Rulebook is about 75% of the way complete. This will have to go through some internal reviews but it's looking really good.
  • Cards are about 66% complete. (See below). This includes cards for all of the Haunting Tale packs. The vast majority of this work is completing the layout of a lot of short bits of text, which can be tedious, but will also require a few fine tooth comb reviews before finalizing.
  • Character sheets are about 95% complete. We've made the first few passes, but we will go over a final review to make sure they cover all the bases.
  • Map and tokens are practically done. There may need to be some small adjustments based on the templates from the factory, but those will be quick resolutions.
  • The Box is the same way. For all practical purposes, it's done.
  • PNP Files: Once these components are finalized, we'll be assembling the print and play. Due to the high number of cards, the print and play document will be multiple pages, but that's what happens with a card-based game with over 200 tarot-sized cards.

Layout Examples

There are so many types of cards in the game, and our designer has done a great job with them to amplify the table presence of this game.

Each phase has certain questions which are asked which could also result in drawing additional cards. Here are some examples of the layout we're using on the phase cards.

Sticking with the iconography that we see on the phases of the night cards, we've also been working to give each one of the character cards their own iconography. These will be used on the character cards themselves, and will be present on cards that are specific to their haunting tales. This has been a process, but we know you'll like what we've come up with. These will be on the character cards as white line art like you see on the phase cards above. Check them out!

Haunting Tales complete, layout proceeding
about 1 year ago – Fri, Mar 17, 2023 at 03:05:09 PM

We are happy to report all the text has been finalized for the rule book and for all the Haunting Tales. We’re so pleased with all the Tales and archetypes created by our team because of the campaign. We’ll be bringing you such archetypes as The Perpetual Victim, The Collector, The Haplessly Hexed, and The Terminally Online. Julian and Doug are happy with the way everything is coming together.

Matt has completed the first pass on the layout for the rule book. We’ve selected some of the pages to show off what things are looking like.

Sample layout pages.
Character sheet for Home.

That’s all for now.

Production Update

Hey all! Graphic design work continues, and we're looking forward to our next update which will give some insight into our graphic design process. Our designer is fantastic and is integral at almost every level of development so we can ensure the end product truly conveys the feel of each game we make. We feel this is especially important for Home since it is a more intimate and personal roleplaying experience. We want each component to convey the feeling we intend for the game.

We've been wrapping up and feedback to writers and getting the finals in, and we paid the factory deposit, so things are moving forward.

Psychic Kids is LIVE!

We mentioned this in our last update too. We wanted to show you the next project coming from our workshop. Go take a look and consider backing and sharing. As always, we truly appreciate your support.

Psychic Kids, the next Indie RPG from Wet Ink Games is NOW LIVE!!! It is very much in the vein of Stranger Things, E.T., and The Escape From Witch Mountain. Use the powers of your mind to flee the agents of the Facility and find your way to the last place you felt safe. BACK TODAY!

Production Update!

Hey everyone! Production continues. All of the drafts for the unlocked Haunting Tales and those which we're including in the project add-ons have come in and are being reviewed by the creative team. The core rules are in layout right now and once those are available, we'll get those sent out to all backers and late backers.  We're getting really excited since we hope to have all of this knocked out in the coming weeks and get it off to the printer. We'll have some really cool layout things to show you in the next week or two so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
